In connection with the launch of the Widex élan open fit hearing aid solution, Widex formed a Marathon Team consisting of 34 participants from 15 countries. The participants were either élan hearing aid dispensers or users.
The goal was that they would all run for the cause of hearing awareness at the 2005 Berlin Marathon and show that it is indeed possible to push the limits and complete a marathon, even if you have hearing loss.
At the training camp at La Santa, six months before the marathon, all the participants were interviewed about their involvement in the hearing awareness cause and their background for taking part in the Widex Marathon Team.
